My name is Jonathan Morris – welcome to my website.

I started fishing at a young age in the River Wye and other streams around Builth Wells where I was born and still live.

Initially it was worm fishing for trout and I was very excited when my mother bought me a fly fishing kit on my 8th birthday.  This was when I decided that I was going to be a fly fisherman.

My passion for fishing has led me to my present position as river keeper on the Wye where I can guide and teach anglers of all abilities to improve their skills.  Depending on the need of the client I can tailor lessons to be hourly, half daily or full days.  I can also do taster days, corporate days and group tuition when required.

I am an Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor (AAPGAI) .  This is the premier qualification in the UK and demands high standards of both casting and teaching to achieve.  I hold an advanced level in Double Hand, Single Hand and Fly Dressing.  I am in possession of a first aid certificate and I am DBS (formally CRB) checked.

I have been fortunate to enjoy fishing in Russia and Norway for salmon, Argentina for sea trout and New Zealand for brown and rainbow trout.  I regularly fish the Ness,  the Spey and the Tay in Scotland and also act as one of the team of instuctors running courses on the Tay.

I run Single and Double Hand courses with my good friends Illtyd Griffiths and Craig Evans on the River Wye.   These will be posted on the website so keep a look out for them!

I look forward to introducing you to or helping you to enjoy this wonderful pastime.
